I lost my phone in Tanzania on safari. Our guide had driven us through absolute wild terrain and bush. It had fallen out of my pocket. I admitted my stupidity — having it in my pocket facing the outside of the Jeep. He insisted that we go look for it. I tried saying no, but he was driving. He retraced our tracks on a dirt road that had been used by other vehicles. It was hopeless. Kicking myself as I hadn’t brought another camera.

As we rode down the dirt road he stopped, hopped out, picked up my dusty but unharmed iPhone. I was shocked, and pleased. He got a big tip!
