Mamas and babies. Do they matter?
HEAR US Inc. believes they do! And we’ll prove it!
I can’t make sense of our world, and I won’t even try. What I can make sense out of is how simple actions of good people can make a huge difference. Case in point, helping mamas and babies.
Not all mamas and babies need help. Some have ample resources to thrive. That’s good! But, in Aurora, the second largest city in Illinois, as with communities across the land, serious needs exist. Thousands of mamas and babies (and others) lack what they need to survive day to day.
Good people doing good things makes good happen.
Fortunately, local efforts step up bolstered by community volunteers and support, and strive to meet the needs of the mostly-invisible mamas and babies (and others). I witnessed this in my 13 years running the PADS shelter at Hesed House (1990–2003) in Aurora. And I’ve seen the same goodness in the countless communities across the country I’ve visited over the last 16 years for my work with my nonprofit, HEAR US Inc.
