“I would like to sincerely thank the Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners for listening to my plea for help, guidance and to simply be heard by people who may be able to provide the multiple families at Westgate Mobile Home Park with even a glimmer of hope and assurance that our community does care. We can not change things if we do not find the voice, the courage and the strength to fight for them. I will encourage my neighbors to hold on and not give up. It is truly grim and disheartening to have been forced to make the choice to prepare my home for a water shut off or speak on our behalf. I may be hauling in bottled water and frequenting the laundromat but I believe advocating was the best choice for the time I had left. My son, who has Autism and who I have loved and fought vigilantly for since his diagnosis, deserves nothing BUT my best. He should never have to ask me if it’s ok to go to the bathroom...nor should the families in this park be rendered homeless because of the failure of our park manager to take care of her property and those residing there.”
