Dear Mr. Dimitris Psillakis,

I’m pondering my current situation: my Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van-home-office “Tillie 2,” aka T2, currently is in a state of “limp mode” that greatly limits my mobility. (For the backstory, here is the link to my most recent Medium post.)

Today’s perplexed state started with grocery shopping. Do I replenish my food supply, most of which requires refrigeration?

In my 8+ years of owning this misnamed van — my sister said I should call it a “Limper” not Sprinter — one thing for sure: When you bring your camper-van into MB for service, they are not prone to plugging it in. If it requires an extended time being serviced (as mine did in December ’21 — 2 weeks), prepare to lose hundreds of dollars worth of food, or find alternative arrangements. Thus my pondering…

Naturally, my head didn’t stop there. I’m sitting in a state — New Mexico — trying to finish my film project on families experiencing homelessness. My Limper Van exhibited first a disturbing loss of acceleration, followed by an all-too-familiar “check engine” light which obviously meant something at the end of February.
