One of the best things that happened to me as I began my unconventional HEAR US (www.hearus.us) journey to give voice and visibility to families and youth experiencing homelessness was not knowing the intricacies of interviewing (or filmmaking for that matter). What I did know a bit about was family homelessness, from years of running shelters. Every person I’ve interviewed over the past 17 years has share deep experiences and observations. I was fortunate enough to know I had the opportunity to hear them. Their sharing has enlightened countless viewers and readers.
