In a heartbeat: 17 years down and another ahead. HEAR US Inc., my unconventional one-woman national nonprofit, turns 18 on July 1. Little would I have guessed that I’d still be at giving voice and visibility to families and youth experiencing homelessness after all this time.

Truth Be Told

When I started this venture, I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I never used a video camera. I had never made a documentary or edited film. I had never been in an RV. I had just sold my townhouse, SUV and stuff. I said goodbye to having a home of my own other than on wheels. My first, and arguably my best, film, My Own Four Walls, was enough to get me hooked.
